In this publication, we have brought together the evidence that putting nature at the heart of food production is the right choice for viable farm businesses.
The NFFN has launched a major new report showing why an ambitious transition to nature-friendly farming is correct way forward for farm businesses as well as for people and planet.
The nature of business: Delivering resilience, food security and economic value through nature-friendly farming, which was launched in Westminster to mark the start of Nature Friendly Farming Week, sets out how our dominant model of conventional agriculture, with high levels of inputs including fossil fuels and chemicals, leaves farm without the resilience to climate change they need.
Instead, it sets out how emphasising soil health, water management and nature on farms will help farmers navigate the growing economic and environmental pressures they face.
In the report, NFFN farmers speak about how their nature-friendly approaches are vital for their farms' balance sheets, while private sector organisations including banks and food businesses explain how the agricultural transition is central to their future viability as well.
