Join us in celebrating today’s farmers, who produce food, care for nature, support their communities…. Get involved!

Farming is changing. While the sector once focused solely on food production, today’s nature-friendly farmers are taking it further - restoring habitats, protecting wildlife, improving water quality, educating, supporting rural communities…

This Nature Friendly Farming Week, we’re celebrating the evolving role of our farmers. Farming and nature can work together - and farmers across the UK are leading the way.

WHAT’S HAPPENING

This year's events offer something for everyone - from workshops tailored for farmers, to family-friendly open days and community talks open to all. Whether you're working the land or simply curious about how food is grown, there's plenty to explore.

STILL WANT TO GET INVOLVED?

Are you a farmer?

Here is what you can do:

Social media

  • In the lead-up to Nature-Friendly Farming Week, we would like farmers to showcase what they do beyond food production:

    • Share a photo - Hold up a clear sign that highlights your role, like “I’m a farmer, and I plant trees”, or “I help store carbon in my soil”, or “I educate children through school visits.”

    • Record a short video (max. 1min) - Show and explain how your work supports nature, climate, or local communities.

    • Please send your photos and videos to info@nffn.org.uk - or get in touch with us if you have any questions.

    • You can also post on your own channels and tag us so we can share your story.

  • Help us spread the word and show your support on social media by liking, sharing and engaging on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn & Bluesky

Please use the hashtag: #NFFWeek2025

Events

You can also get involved by hosting your own event during Nature Friendly Farming Week.

  • Open your farm to the public - Offer a firsthand look at how nature-friendly farming works through a guided walk, a farm tour, or a hands-on activity. This will help visitors understand the vital role farmers play beyond food production.

  • Or host a Shed Talk - Gather local farmers, community members, or school groups for a discussion on nature-friendly farming. Share experiences, challenges, and ideas on how to farm with nature in mind.

Looking for inspiration? There are plenty of free resources online to help you plan your event. Have a look around and make it your own.

Make sure to keep us posted via social media or by emailing info@nffn.org.uk so we can help spread the word.
