Enhancing water quality with comfrey filtration

Kenny Brown’s farm near Moneymore, Northern Ireland, uses an efficient comfrey filtration system to protect water quality and keep nearby rivers clean. This system channels farmyard runoff through an underground trench planted with comfrey, a deep-rooted plant that absorbs nutrients and prevents pollution.

With support from Alan Keys and the Ballinderry Rivers Trust, Kenny’s approach benefits both crop health and the local ecosystem.

Watch the video to see how this simple solution is making a positive impact on water quality and the surrounding landscape.
