Discover how nature-friendly farming strengthens soils, livestock and sales on this farm-to-fork day.

We’ll begin at Edinvale Farm with a walk and discussion on grazing, soil health, native breeds and resilience in upland systems.

Over a BBQ lunch with Macbeth’s meat, explore how Pasture for Life certification and storytelling build trust and connect with consumers.

In the afternoon, enjoy a butchery demonstration and a behind-the-scenes tour of Macbeth’s Butchers and see how short supply chains bring the farm story to market.

Jock Gibson:

Jock is a partner, alongside his wife Fiona, in Edinvale Farms, and is Managing Director of Macbeth’s Butchers in Forres. An engineer by trade, Jock took over Macbeth’s in 2007 and Fiona and Jock took on the farm in 2015.

The farm is Pasture for Life certified and breeds and finishes Highland and Shorthorn Cattle for Macbeth’s. Macbeth’s supplies hotels, restaurants, and private individuals up and down the country. It also provides a cutting and packing service to other farmers and crofters to direct market their own produce.

Jock is a Board Member of Farmstrong Scotland and a 2024 Nuffield Scholar.
