This event, hosted by Jo Coates and Dan Stephenson on their farm in the Yorkshire Dales, is an exciting collaboration with the Nature Friendly Farming Network and Pasture for Life, and will focus on what’s working on the ground and how different types of support can come together on your farm.
The event will include a farm walk, touching on work supported through Farming in Protected Landscapes, alongside opportunities to discuss grazing strategies, funding, woodland and landscape planning, and farmer-to-farmer learning. There will be plenty of time for informal conversations, questions, and sharing ideas you can take home.

Jo and Dan farm in Coverdale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, combining day-to-day stock work with practical land-management projects. Jo is a new entrant who works as a visual artist and photographer, milks cows alongside farming life, and sits on the steering group of the Nature Friendly Farming Network; Dan farms and contracts part time, drawing on years of hands-on experience both locally and overseas. The farm is a small upland farm with shorthorn cattle.
This event is also supported by Defra's FIPL fund and partners in the Pasture for Life FIPL North Project including, Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, Lake District National Park, Forest of Bowland National Landscape, Nidderdale National Landscape, North Pennines National Landscape and UNESCO North Pennines.
