Your personal data (i.e. information which identifies you, or which can be identified as relating to you personally) will be collected and used by the NFFN.
We collect data you provide to us. This includes information you give when joining, signing up online or via a signup postcard, or communicating with NFFN. We collect data from farmers, member organisations and the general public.
We do not normally collect or store sensitive personal data (such as information relating to health, beliefs or political affiliation).
We only use your personal data with your consent or where it is necessary in order to:
If you are a farmer, we will require the data to contact you with monthly updates and opportunities for you to input further (as per your desired preferences). If you are a partner organisation there will be the opportunity for you to pass information to other farmers via the NFFN steering group. We will then contact only those of you who have expressed an interest in the topic through your preferences. Invitations to events could include political campaigning, sharing best practice, possibly fundraising or else, as determined by the NFFN steering group. If you are a member of the public, we will require the data to contact you with newsletters and possibly with requests to support the NFFN campaigns should you opt for that preference. We will monitor some of our members by county so that we can assess where more targeted recruitment might be needed. We will also use this information as an advisory tool for NFFN.
We employ a variety of physical and technical measures to keep your data safe and to prevent unauthorised access to, or use or disclosure of your personal information. Electronic data and databases are stored on a secure computer system (password protected, with limited admin login and multi factor authentication). We control who has access to information and that they receive adequate data protection training. The secure computer system has nightly backups and a full server off site incremental backup. Whenever we collect your data on paper, such as a signup postcard for events, we store this securely in locked draws and input the data to the contact management system.
We will never sell your personal data. We will not share personal information within the NFFN or with partner organisations. We may share personal data with subcontractors or suppliers who provide us with services. However, these activities will be carried out under a contract which imposes strict requirements on our supplier to keep your information confidential and secure.
The NFFN is based in the UK and we store our data within the European Union. We only use and store information for as long as it is required and solely for the purposes it was collected for. We continually review what information we hold and delete what is no longer required. We do not store payment information.
